A New Race Begins

With one car now destroyed and minor repairs to be done on the other, Team LMR has got the “Clock Ticking” to prepare a completely new car in time for the 12 Hour event.

No time has been wasted as Steve Briffa from Briffa Smash in Sydney has taken the surviving car into his workshop to quickly repair the minor scars from the week at Bathurst.

Back in Brisbane, Team Principal Gerard Keogh set out to secure a brand new car to be prepared by early January.

Barton’s HSV in Brisbane came to the rescue with Dealer Principal Michael Bonnici having a car in stock and generously supplying it at “The Right Price”.
With that hurdle overcome ,The Team has in place a tight schedule in which the car will travel to Dave Feron at Competition Fabrication for the new Roll cage and then to Jonker’s Smash for the colour change.

While all this is going on, the car’s builder Cameron McLean will have organised the drive train work and the necessary other items needed to finish this massive but speedy build.

What a month it is going to be.

The unsung hero out of all of this has to be “Big Mark” who fills so many rolls in our team and all his hard work and patience has been the driving force behind much of the success.

To Barton’s Holden, Jonker’s Smash, Competition Fabrication, Briffa Smash and finally Cameron Mclean, all of the Team thank you for your support and the work that has to be done at such short notice.

Finally on a personal note.

The Team at LMR wish you all a Happy and Safe Christmas and look forward to updating you over the next few weeks..
